-----Why buy a kitten from us? All Siberians cats are not created equal. There are large variations within the breed, but some Siberians cause little or no allergic reactions. Since 2013, our breeding cats have been tested and they are carefully selected for their low level of allergens. As a breed, Siberians usually cause lower allergic response than other cat breeds, but the levels vary widely within the breed. We are fortunate to have a few Neva masquerade breeding cat tested for allergen Fel d1 for saliva with an allergen levels among the lowest in the world.
Specializing in breeding the extremely low allergen Fel d1 Neva Masquerade, each colorpoint siberian kitten has an hypoallergenic fur with an exceptionally low level of Fel d1 and bright blue eyes.
----- Are these tests reliable? The older tests on the fur and saliva made a few years ago gave controversial results, not very reliable and quite variable.
Since then, the saliva tests in 2010 have evolved and are now much reliable to 80% on a kitten and 90% on an adult cat. Even today, some breeders are reluctant to the idea of testing the saliva of their breeding cat and mention that these tests are still unreliable, probably to avoid the following: the Fel d1 allergen tests are expensive and they do want to invest in this sense, the only reliable laboratory is located in Virginia in USA or the result of their breeding cat saliva tests is disappointing and they prefer not to talk about it.
-----Which kittens should I choose if I'm allergic to cats? The lowest, the better !!
We are proud of the results of saliva tests and we can say that our cats have a really low degree of allergen Fel d1. The results are on page '' Our Siberians ''.
----- In these conditions, how to know if a Siberian kitten has a low allergen Fel d1 degree or not? The degree Fel d1 allergens of a Siberian cat is on a scale from 0 to 32mcg (micrograms). We consider that a Siberian cat with a level of Fel d1 allergen of 3mcg and more, can not be called a Siberian cat with a low level of Fel d1 allergen and should not be sold in homes with allergies to cats since allergies can develop or worsen over the years. The typical result observed for a Siberian cat is usually between 4 and 16 mcg of Fel D1. Our cattery contains no breeding cat above 1.62mcg of Fel D1. The only way is to test the saliva of the kitten in the laboratory to know the degree of the kitten allergen. In the same litter, all kittens will not have the same degree of allergens.
----- What differentiates us from another Siberian cattery? We breed only from Siberian Cat Neva Masquerade Pure Breed. There are two types of Siberians: the traditional (usually colored tabby) and Neva masquerade (pointing to white). This means that your kitten will be born from a Neva Masquerade father and mother Neva masquerade. Your kitten will be a Siberian Kitten Neva Masquerade Pure breed. Many catteries mix the two types and mate the traditional and the Neva masquerade together. The eyes of all our cats are blue. Kittens also have blue eyes like their parents. Our kittens and cats come from a healthy and family environnement and doesn't come from a third parties. We take care of each and everyone of them to make sure that they become a sweet little angel. Socialization is a big part of our daily job.
----- At what age can kittens go to their new homes? This depends upon each kitten’s individual needs. As the breeder, I need to determine that they are both physically and emotionally ready to leave, and are completely independent from their mother. Average age for going to their new homes is 14 to 15 weeks.
-----Who are our customers ? Families, young workers or students, retirees, animal enthusiasts, people who offer animal therapy services ... all our customers are important to us. Most of our customers are allergic to cats.
-----Can I have my kitten shipped and how much does it cost? Most often sent with our pet nanny in the cabin of the plane. The ideal and least stressful way to travel for a kitten is to travel under the seat of a passenger, your little angel can make his trip with a private transport service (flight nanny or pet nanny) or, if you prefer you can come directly pick him up at the cattery. The price will varie depending on the airport you choose and the date and time of the flight.
If you live in the North East states of the United States, traveling by car with a pet nanny is sometimes an interesting alternative. Your kitten could thus be delivered directly to your house or halfway to the cattery if you prefer. You can always come to meet us and come pick up your kitten directly at the cattery.
-----What is the price of a kitten sold as pet? Each kitten will come with the following: -Registered as a purebred Siberian with TICA -Microchipped -Age appropriate basic vaccination and first deworming -Kitten Toy and a baby blanket that they have used to help the transition (so it has the scent of Mom and sibling's) -Veterinary booklet -Sales agreement & Health Guarantee -Rabies vaccine -Health certificate for shipping -Results from testing from the lab
The price of a kitten whose saliva is tested for Fel d1 allergens varies depending on the results of its saliva tests :
USD $5,099. for a kitten tested between 0.90mg and 2 mcg of Fel d1 USD $5,599. for a kitten tested below 0.90mcg of Fel d1
We offer a single USD $200 discount when two kittens are purchased at the same time.
-----When are sterilized? Neutering / Spaying The additional cost associated with sterilizing the kitten is USD $260. Since your kitten will be sterilized before it leaves the cattery, this cost is mandatory. It's definitely a lot less stressful for kittens to go to the vet in groups for their spay/neuter surgeries. Plus, it's really easier for you to not have to manage the process.
